Hi my name is Kristy and I am a single mom looking to better her life as well as her kids.I would love to start working from my home so that I am with my little ones.If anyone has ideas please pass them along.

If you do a little work and some research you will find that there have been individuals who have gotten grants to start their own business. The SBA has a grant program (not LOAN) program itself but it seems not a lot of people know about it - that is where you have to do the work and the research. I have listed examples of people that have gotten grants to start their own business on my Grant Basics 101 page (and blog). Talk to any grantwriter and you may be surprised at the number of grant programs that are out there for individuals. Even the government's website has grant programs which are open to all to apply for - and this includes individuals as well as for-profit businesses. You have to do the work to find out about these kinds of grant programs. There's no secret - just work!
